Meet Us

Rachel, Owner

You must know first and foremost that I am in love with what I do. I have been designing wedding flowers since 2004 and haven’t spent a day since wishing I was doing anything else.

After obtaining an event planning job in West Palm Beach, FL one day I happened to help with a floral design creation for an event and ever since that day, have never looked back. It felt natural and was completely fulfilling. A feeling I still experience today as every new event and special wedding is a gift to me I cherish. Every trip to the flower market, you’ll find me smiling and anxious to pick up all the beauties that are awaiting to be designed.

I believe it is of the utmost importance to help convey the feelings and the style of the couple getting married and to deliver a creation that best suits their character. Just as a photographer needs to capture the essence of your love in photographs, as an event florist, my job is to portray your love through the beauty of flowers. What colors are you attracted to? Do you have a favorite flower? A favorite scent? Do you like a rustic appeal to your décor or fancy the simple elegance of an all-white palette? Does a certain flower trigger a special memory within you?

The options and the arrangements are endless. It is my job to help you tie it all together and create the ambiance that will make every guest when leaving say:

“That wedding was EXACTLY them!”

Mackenzie, Lead Assistant

Planning your wedding day is as important to me as it is to you. I understand the stress you feel and your wanting it to turn out perfect – and the excitement of seeing it turn out just that way! My staff and I are focused on making that happen.

Send me an email, give me a ring, have a little birdy tell me – however you prefer! I would love to hear from you and learn how I can help. We will meet for a complimentary consultation at first and as many times thereafter as you need. Sometimes ideas change and that’s okay. The first consultation usually takes about an hour and feel free to bring anything that you have been collecting; pictures, magazines, Pinterest boards, etc. The more visuals to convey the expression of your day, the better.

I don’t expect you to come knowing every flower name, what’s in season or what will look best together. That’s why you called me, right? I will help guide you through all of that and plan with you. Team effort around here. I don’t want you to feel like you’re treading water trying to stay on top of it all.

Working on special events such as holiday parties, bar and bat mitzvahs and celebrations of all kinds are so exciting for me! They allow for creativity and diversity to expand into all areas of the imagination. Picture having your party be a certain theme and then take that concept and allow for an unconventional perspective in floral design to highlight the event.

Why not celebrate a 12-year-old girl’s bat mitzvah as a Hollywood themed extravaganza with ‘paparazzi’, a red carpet, centerpieces made of tall dolls adorned in dresses made of flowers?? I have! Just like the process of planning a wedding, designing for a special event follows the same course. We will meet to discuss the layout and possible design ideas and then I will draw up a proposal for you outlining all the details. I am more than happy to meet at the venue to better understand the surroundings and it’s atmosphere. Big or small, adding floral design to the decor will greet your guests with warmth and beauty.

In 2012, 2013 and 2014, A Florae received the award for Best of Longmont in Wedding Planning!   Every job I book and every client I meet adds another page to my life’s story. With every page I am that much more grateful.

I look forward to meeting you and would love any opportunity to discuss your event/wedding plans and to walk down memory lane with you.
